Art & History - Educational activities

The educational departments are created in the territories that obtained the acknowledgement Pays d'Art et d'Histoire given by the French Ministry of Culture and other public bodies.
They want to emphasize a multi sensorial approach of the heritage in its broadest sense. The team of professionals gives you the tools to discover the area through playful and interactive activities during which the pupil/student is an actor in the educational process. 
The workshops will be adapted to the age and school programmes of the pupils/students.

The educational department also organizes guided tours. 
A teacher is at your disposal to help you prepare your educational project be it a theme trail, an inter-disciplinary project with a professional scope, an educational and innovative action...
The Region of Art and History works with the Centre de Ressources Molière to organize "Theatre and Heritages classes" in Pézenas. Classes come for one day up to one week and have a tailor made programme according to the teacher's demands. 

The Pays de Pézenas has a rich and varied heritage, so it will be possible to explore the following themes:

  The town: example of Pézenas

• Crafts and materials
  The stone, construction and sculpture
  The iron in decoration
  The lime and façade decorations 
  The wood in construction and decoration
   
• Natural heritage
  Trail: Le sentier du Pas du lièvre
   
• Additional themes
  Montagnac in the Middle Ages.
  Pézenas during the fairs.
  Pézenas theatre and its restoration.

VISITS 

• Not to be missed
  Discover the town of Pézenas throughout its history and architecture: the medieval town, the classical town.
• Techniques used in buildings: 
  Discover Pézenas doors. The doors and their frames from the Middle Ages to the 19th century, visit of the Museum of doors. 
  Demos of ironworking, stone cutting and carving,.. on request. 

COST OF A WORKSHOP OR A VISIT

Up to 20 pupils/students: €50 for the class
From 21 to 50 pupils/students: € 2,5 / person
