Florensac is located on the left bank of the Hérault in Bas-Languedoc wine country, near the sea. Its origins go way back and its name might come from "Fleur en sac" (flower in sack). On the Via Domitia, its attractions include many vestiges of antiquity. Stroll round its little streets 15th, 16th and 17th c. and 18th. c ancestral homes, breathe in the fragrance of gardens, look inside the oddly asymmetrical church of St-John the Baptist, and round it all off simply with a crisp, lively glass of Picpoul, Ressac or dry Muscat!
