Discover - Saint-Pons-de-Mauchiens

Built up on a rocky spur, this is one of those circular villages known as “Circulades” originating in the Middle Ages. Inhabited by prehistoric peoples (on the site of Roquemengarde in late Neolithic times), it can now boast its 12th and 14th c. church, ramparts and picturesque streets and the 14th. c., former Consul's house, former castle and residence of the bishops of Adge, and the façade of the Maison des Emigrants (17th c.). At 4km from the village, between the Château of Lavagnac and the burg of Bélarga, is the Moulin de Roquemengarde on the banks of the Hérault.
